September 2009

We went to the Bear Park to go fishing it was a lot of fun. The weather was great and the boys enjoyed it. We packed KFC and headed for the park. I miss summer. I can't wait for it to be here.
Luke enjoys fishing. He is pretty patient too.
Mom loves her boys....

Me and the love of my life....
Our little picnic. It was a fun activity.
Gone fishin. Not a care in the world. But then again I don't know if Cole ever has a care.
Jake loves to be outside. Out of all my kids he enjoys it the most. He is my little outdoors man.
Moose is being adventurous. He has fun once he is there but Luke likes being home.
Boys having fun together...
Cole was Nephi for the week. We picked one of our kids that was acting like Nephi throughout the week and they got to go golfing with dad. Cole was Nephi. He was a good listener and obeyed mom and dad. He was nice to his brothers and overall was the best kid for the week. Go Cole!!!
Nephi...:)

He was so excited to go. He also got to get ice cream with dad after they went golfing. He is our little sweetie.

Luke and Cole love to play under the table. They "frix" it as Luke would say. They bring up all their tools and get to work. Thanks for being my little handy men, dad needs to take notes from the kids.
We love going to Jake's school to see what is up. He has lots of cute little buddies. He enjoys recess that is his favorite part of the day.
Brady is in Jake's class. He showed me the playground and gave me the ins and outs of what you are supposed to do. Where the rocks are and the wood chips, what slide does what and so forth.
We packed a lunch and went to school to eat with Jake.
Jake got his first cavity. Dang it. Hope we don't get another one. Brush, Brush, Brush your teeth.
Cole is pumped. Poor little dude.
Luke was really nervous but he did great.

We went to a fun little out door carnival at Jake's school. The boys all had a good time. Then Jake rode the bus on the way home for his first time. He thought that was pretty cool. But mom isn't ready to let him ride it on a regular basis. Maybe next year

Here we go again. Soon we will be caught up.

This summer there was a lot of dirt everywhere. Were excited when we finally got our grass in. But the kids preferred the dirt. Ya know, because it is dirty. Why did we get grass? The kids even pulled the sleds out to slide on the dirt. I thought it was funny. But there is plenty of time to do that in the winter, let's ride bikes or something.

Everyone knows that Luke is a smart kid. He always has been. He loves to learn and I love watching him. He is constantly surprising me. He is always a cute kid. But he does have a mind of his own and when you go against that there is a battle. But if you ignore him he calms down if you try and fix it gets worse. Funny little guy

Cole is always hungry. "Mom I'm stravin," he says. Like he knows what starving feels like. The kid never goes on hour without a snack or a meal. He cracks me up. Here he is enjoying his snack for the morning since it is 9am and he has been up since 8.

Sunday stations. We love Sunday stations and on this day we were did them outside. The kids love them. Church starts at 1 so until then we do little activities. Sometimes they are church related and sometimes they are not. But...the kids love them and they help the day move along with less contention.

The ice cream truck came to the right neighborhood. The boys didn't know what it was the first time they heard the music. But it only took once to catch on. I never had an ice cream truck when I was a kid. Travis has fond memories of the kids scattering as soon as they heard the music playing. I am glad that we have one for our kids. The truck is from Utah, so they must make plenty of money if they can drive all the way up to Evanston and back and still make money off of the kids. Our little dudes have to stick to the dollar menu when he comes by. They don't seem to mind though.

Uncle Ben came up to play in the VanDerVeur open, which, by the way, is another topic for another day. The guys had fun playing gold and the boys and mom stayed home. Uncle Ben did come visit us though and we were happy for that. He took the boys for ice cream and wrestled with them. We love Ben he is a good guy we wish he would find a special someone to settle down with. We hope he comes back next year to stay.
Aunty Tricia came from Hawaii to hang out. We loved having her. She left the kids and J dog back at home. We all love it when our family comes up to stay. Troy, Kellee and Teagan also came up to have dinner. Teagan is the cutest little guy. The boys love him.

There was a family wedding. The boys and I drove down to see Katie get married. She looked beautiful.

We were the only family that Uncle Ron had there. Uncle Ron is a good man and we loved seeing them all.

We went to one wedding only to find out that there was another one in 2 months. Finally! Mr. right has come and we couldn't be happier. Love to all the Davis family and their additions. Carly and more grand kids are next.

Jake's First Day of Kindergarten

We got up and got ready for Jake's first day of Kindergarten. Of course we were late, but we made it. When I let go of Jake's hand there was no looking back. I watched him run excitedly to meet his classmates in line. His smile was huge as he waited to go inside the classroom. I sat there and had no clue what to do. So, I cried. Not a little cry I sobbed like a big baby. Yes, I was pregnant and I did blame it on the hormones...but in all honesty I am sure I would have done that pregnant or not. A mom handed me a tissue and put her arm around me. I didn't know if I should just grab her and sob into her shoulder or just keep looking forward. I did the later of the two. I watched Jake leave with his class and I just said a prayer for him and me that we could make it through this change. And we did and are. When I left the parking lot to go to van I looked for Jake and put my hand out to grab his, a mom habit. It was weird and totally caught me off guard. There was no one behind me. I started to cry harder. I was a mess. I didn't realize how hard it was for Luke and Cole until the day progressed. They kept asking when Jake was coming home and when it was raining outside they were stressed that Jake would get cold, and at lunch they blessed the food and Jake. That first night when Jake got home we all were so excited to have him back. They all played hard together to make up for lost time during the day. And that night Jake asked if he could sleep with his brothers. They all fell asleep in each others arms it was the cutest thing. It didn't take long for them all to fall fast asleep, especially Jake he was exhausted. We had Jake with drawls for about 2 weeks. It was a weird adjustment. I happy for Jake and all that he has done, but I just wish I could rewind time and do all of it over again. It has gone by fast and just seems to keep getting faster.
